Electrochemically Exfoliated Graphene for High-Durability Cement Composites

The development of radically new types corrosion-resistant cement composites is nowadays compulsory in view the continuous increase concrete consumption combined with intrinsically defective nature concrete. Among various additives being employed technology, carbon nanomaterials have emerged as extremely powerful components capable remarkably enhancing nano- and microstructures well properties cement-based composites. In this study, we demonstrate that mortar incorporating electrochemically exfoliated graphene (EEG) exhibits significantly improved fluid transport properties. addition 0.05 wt % EEG to ordinary Portland results reduction initial secondary sorptivity values by 21 25%, respectively. This leads outstanding resistance EEG–cement highly corrosive environments, namely, chloride sulfate solutions.
